Maybe you just grow accustomed. Yesterday’s pain is today’s habit. What should hurt, simply doesn't anymore.
It’s like stepping into the dark. At first, you cannot see, wondering how anyone navigates. Then, slowly, the shadows sharpen. You watch the next person stumble while you stand still, smirking in the shadows.
But seeing in the dark doesn't make it daytime.
Is it a gift to see in the dark, or a delusion?
Does the clarity make the room any brighter, or have I just lost my memory of the sun?
Am I in a bright world, or just one I've learned to endure?
Will it mold to me, or am I molding to it?
