Honestly; What's The Plan?!
So now, I am asking and I am beseeching and I am warning to the directorship of the Rebbe's camp, Gan Yisroel Detroit — not only should you have mercy on yourselves, but have mercy on the whole future of Lubavitch! It is in your hands! "If not us then who? And if not now then when?"
It's been around for years, and it was always known for its responsibility and care for all those who go through its doors.
Yes, Machneh Gan Yisroel Detroit - be it in Oak Park, Tustin, or Kalakaska - it's the camp with the amazing and geshmake Chassidishe avir.
Each summer every camper walks home with a new light and a new chayus in his Hiskashrus with the Rebbe.
With all of this in mind, understandably, the staff and directorship of Gan Yisroel Detroit must take the proper and befitting responsibility and devotion to keep the camp running every year as it has been for the past many decades.
Chas Vesholom to compare Detroit with any other camp. But, in this case we must.
Every camp has all their head staff and staff in place and ready to take on their specific Shlichus in camp, already since Shvat time. They want to make sure that the campers and the parents of the campers know that they are in good hands before they sign up for camp.
Understandably, if a camp fails to do so already in the late winter months, it shows that the directorship of the camp is not fully devoted to the functionality and the care for every staff member and camper that comes through its doors that year.
In our case, unfortunately, Gan Yisroel Detroit has failed to do so this year, it is already entering the auspicious month and happy month of Adar, a month where no one should have any worries about anything including the summer on their head.
The fact that they failed to do so this year, shows the irresponsibility and incapabilities of the directorship to run the camp this year.
This is not being written as a Maacha of any sort rather as a warning to the Future of Lubavitch.
If you think about it for a minute, the very fact that the central mosdos of Lubavitch are running, is because of the effort and the care that is put in by people who are beneficiaries of the care and devotion and Chassidishkeit betrayed by the staff and directorship of Gan Yisroel Detroit.
So, if they fail to continue being responsible on getting proper staff and head staff for every summer on time, early enough that the parents do not have to worry into whose hands they are putting their children in. Then, in 5 years, there won't be any children coming back to this camp. And if so, in 25 years, there won't be anyone to run Lubavitch.
So now, I am asking and I am beseeching and I am warning to the directorship of the Rebbe's camp Gan Yisroel Detroit, not only should you have mercy on yourselves, but have mercy on the whole future of Lubavitch! It is in your hands!
As Rabbi Moshe Bryski said by a Kinus Hashluchim quoting ethics of our fathers: "If not us then who? And if not now then when?"
B'Birchas Chassidim,
A Beating Heart.
