The return of the Blogspots
How articles and Blogspots turned from being Geshmake places for people to talk/Farbreng to just AI slop
There used to be an Inyon before WhatsApp, known as Bloggor (or Blogspot, blogs). It was a place where people could talk, farbreng, and sometimes get mad at each other, vchulu. There were Chabad blogs, snag blogs, and Chabad blogs created to fight the snags[1], vchulu—you get the point, people still spoke to each other and had good dialogue (in dialogue i mean fights but whatever).
The first step of the yeridah was WhatsApp. the purpose of WhatsApp is for short messages, so even though there are some WhatsApp chats that still have this inyan of discussing things, arguing about things but more bichlallus writing long(er) articles for people to read however they are very few and far between, and not everyone can access any WhatsApp chat, (unlike a website) vchulu.[2]
So that's why, in a way, reviving the blogspots fun amol can be (and probably is) a good thing. However, since we live in an age where AI is a cheat code for life, some of the articles on this website are interesting and informative, vchulu, but most articles literally feel like a bored bochur put a couple of lines into ChatGPT and asked it to make a whole megilla out of it. (I don’t want to point to any specific article, but I think anyone could go through the articles themselves and figure it out.) but bichlallus, that is what this website feels like.
So practically i think this website has a lot of potential but to all authors please don't mess this up by doing AI articles (you're not fooling anyone - it's very obvious)[3].
